Shipping Container Investing is a Simple Business Investment

Warren Buffett, arguably one of the most successful and wealthy investors in the world, has offered some valuable investing insight, that we can all use for developing a safe investment strategy:

" I like businesses that I can understand, let's just start with that. That narrows it down to about 90%." Mr. Buffett, then held up a can of Coke as an example. "It's been around for over a hundred years. A simple business that is easy to understand and has a history of longevity in the world market."

The more simple a business is to understand, the less an investor will have to consider, when identifying and making; a safe investment. Ask yourself, is the investment you are about to make, easy to understand? Has this product been around, for a long time?

Shipping containers have been in the marketplace since 1956, and have firmly established themselves as an integral part, of transporting of the world's goods. As well as being an important part of the international shipping industry, these commodities are currently in very high demand, around the globe. And with the impending world-wide economic boom, due in part to the expansion of the Panama canal in 2014, experts predict that there will be a steady and long-term rise in demand for shipping containers; creating a continued need for shipping container investment and leasing.

When Mr. Buffet's criteria is applied to shipping container investments, and used to analyzing the potential of the shipping container industry, it becomes apparent that container investing is an investment opportunity; that safe investment-seekers will want to seriously consider.

  1. There is no doubt, that shipping containers are a vital part of transporting international cargo, and that the recent growth in the Asia Pacific region has created a sharp rise in demand; for a dependable supply of shipping containers.

The result is an industry that stands to benefit enormously, from the expansion of the Panama Canal in 2014, and the introduction of larger container ships; to international ports.

  3. Due in part to the expansion of the Panama Canal, experts predict a rise in global productivity, that will require a steady and long-term supply of shipping containers; to meet international demand. I can see how this would create a continued need for shipping container investment and a renewed interest in long term container leasing.

And, because shipping containers play such an important role in encouraging economic growth and development, they have demonstrated that they will continue perform well; as a profitable long-term investment.
